The Cadillac XT5 is an-all new vehicle expected to take the world by storm when it hits the roads. The American automobile manufacturer has described the mid-size SUV as one that will turn heads. The car will replace the Cadillac SRX, a mid-size crossover that has faced stiff competition from similar cars. 2017 Cadillac XT5 will come with a sophisticated exterior, a state-of-the-art interior and a powerful engine.
2017 Cadillac XT5 – Outer Body Design:
According to the car manufacturer, the XT5 will be based on the same platform as CTS and CT6. The car will be lighter than SRX, something which is attributed to the use of high-strength steel, aluminum alloys and laser welding. Despite the weight reduction, the car will have a better body rigidity and firm stance.
You should expect a bigger egg crate grille and vertical-integrated LED headlights in the front end of 2017 Cadillac XT5. If you have seen the rear side of CTS sedan, you can have a clue of how the backside of the XT5 will look like. There are horizontal lines running between the tail lights, which are placed above the bumper.
Some of the things that will catch your attention in the interior of 2017 Cadillac XT5 include hand-crafted panel surfaces and wood grain inserts. Seats will come with mechanisms such as fold-down, recline and slide-forward and backward. They will also be heated and cooled, making them as comfortable as possible.
The center console will be equipped with an updated infotainment system consisting of a large screen and a faster processor. There will also be a climate controller, a wireless charging dock and a transmission shifter on the center stack. Other tech features that you should expect include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and 4G hotspot. 2017 Cadillac XT5 will come with all sorts of driver assistance systems, safety and security features. Some of the systems and features include airbags, lane keeping assist, automatic parking assist, adaptive cruise control, side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert and rear camera mirror.
2017 Cadillac XT5 – Engine and Active Fuel Management:
There will be one engine option for the XT5: 3.6-liter V6, although a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 is rumored to feature in some markets. The 3.6-liter engine is already available in other Cadillac models such as ATS, CTS and CT6. It has a capacity of 310 hp and 270 lb-ft and comes with features such as variable valve timing, active fuel management, cylinder deactivation and stop/start technology.
The engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission system which includes an electronic precision shift. The car will use a front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive, with the latter being optional. It will take 7.0 seconds to accelerate from 0-60 mph. Car enthusiasts have estimated the top speed at 125 mph. As for the fuel economy, the car will record 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.
2017 Cadillac XT5 – Price and Competition:
Waiting to buy the XT5? Well, be ready to spend at least $39,000. Six models will be offered to suit different classes of people. You should expect to spend $62,500 to own the highly refurbished model. The car will be available in the US at the end of the first quarter of 2016. Other markets will get the car in the last months of 2016.
