The Renault Captur is a mini crossover SUV produced by the French manufacturer Renault since 2013. The concept of the Captur was first shown at the 2011 Geneva Motor show. The vehicle has different customization options for interior and exterior and is based on the fourth generation Clio, also manufactured by Renault. It was its segment’s best seller in its debut year and won the What Car? Award for Best small SUV Less than $ 24,670 in 2014. Since 2013 has sold over 85,000 units, no one expected it to be this popular. Its success it’s partly attributed to the design and the diesel and petrol engine options with economic fuel consumption, there is also the much more acceptable price in comparison to the giants of its class. The Renault Captur is made with carbon fire, has removable roof and large 22 inch wheels. It’s front wheel drive despite its SUV/crossover appearance.
2017 Renault Captur – Exterior and Interior Design
The 2017 Renault Captur will not change much from its predecessor. The concept is based on the well-know Nissan Juke B platform that has proven to be excellent since the beginning. The car’s body will be beetle shaped and it’s one of the most efficient and superior looking car in the market thanks to the cooperation of Renault and Nissan. We expect the model to be available in different colors. Like the 2016 model there will be a lot of curves on the exterior with new LED headlight and taillights and new wheels.
On the inside the 2017 Renault Captur will have a touch of color contrasting with black with a spacious cabin to make the passengers comfortable and will use comfy fabric. The seats will, as usual, be made with the finest materials to let you have a comfortable and relaxing ride on the vehicle. Also, there will be the standards features like infotainment system, touch screen, navigation system, tilting steering wheel, climate and traction control, airbags, heated seats, powered mirrors and windows, padded doors, lane departure, parking sensors and more. It’s expected to have the same display installed at the center console.
2017 Renault Captur – Engine and Performance
It has been proved that customers want both diesel and petrol engine options, that’s why Renault engineers are offering exactly that so you just have to choose the one you prefer.
The engine options of the 2017 Renault Captur are expected to be a 1.2 liter able to deliver 115 horsepower and 140 lb. ft. of torque with 0-60 mph (0-100 Km/h) in 11 seconds acceleration and a diesel engine of 1.5 liter delivering 90 horsepower and 160 lb. ft torque with a 0-60 mph (0-100 Km/h) in 13 seconds acceleration present as well. Factory fuel consumption will be 3,9 mpg while CO2 emission is 103 g/km. There would probably have two options of transmission, a five speed manual transmission and an automatic six speed transmission.
2017 Renault Captur – Price and Release Date
Although the 2017 Renault Captur doesn’t have much time in the market it has been well accepted since the beginning so the 2017 Renault Captur won’t have much changes even in price so that can be expected to be the same as the 2016 base model, around $ 20,000. It can be expected to be out in the market by early 2017.
