The world famous Japanese mid-size SUV is in its phase of redesigning. This SUV was released in 2007 and it is being sold in 190 countries. Those who live in America might not have heard of this SUV but surely have seen it somewhere. It’s known as the Nissan Rouge in America. The company is ready to make some changes in the basic model. A new change is that it is going to be the hybrid version that will give competition to 2016 Honda CR-V, 2016 Mazda CX-5 and GMC Terrain. This change will increase the demand of Nissan X-Trail 2016.
Nissan X-Trail 2016 – Exterior and Interior Design
The base version for the Nissan X-Trial 2016 was presented in the Frankfurt auto show in 2013. It willcome in 3 trim levels; S, SV, and SL. The Common Module Family platform will be used again. Lightweight materials have been used and the weight of the car now is 1500 kg. As the body is light, the fuel consumption is going to be low too. Consumers can either choose 17 or 19 inch alloy wheels. 2 to 3 rows of seats will be offered depending on the trim levels. The basic model is capable of adjusting 5 passengers but the longer version is capable of adjusting 7 passengers. All variants are spacious plus comfortable seats are added with light and dark upholstery. The cabin will be improved with the navigation system, new infotainment system and the LCD touchscreen. Some face lifting in the design will be seen but the basic design will remain the same. The front and rear won’t get any changes but some styling cues have been added along with new headlamps and LED lights. Furthermore, the interior changes are not going to be big. Some new features will be added though such as central locking system, Bose powered new audio system, power steering, electric mirror, fabric seat covers, AC, the connect system, dual zone automatic climate control and cruise control. The basics such as air bags, brake assist, electronic brake distribution, ABS Braking and blind spot detection will be seen too.
Nissan X-Trail 2016 – Engine and Fuel Economy
Nissan X-Trail 2016 will have the same engine that was present in the previous model. It will have the supercharged 4-clyinder 2.5 liter engine that can produce 170 horsepower and 175 pound feet torque. The Xtronic CVT will be combined with the engine with no manual transmission. The consumers can choose between FWD and 4WD system. The fuel economy has been improved too with 26 mpg in city and 33 mpg in highway. It is expected that a hybrid powertrain might be offered to further reduce the fuel economy. It is going to be Nissan X-Trail 2016 hybrid 2 liter inline-4 gasoline engine having an electric motor.
Nissan X-Trail 2016 – Price and Release Date
Nissan X-Trail 2016 is expected to be released in mid of the year 2015. The price of the base model starts from $28,000 and if you choose any other trim level, the price will be higher. The price of the hybrid model is going to be even higher.
